Cheating Libertarians out of their Vote In the August 2006 Primary Election here in Jackson County, Missouri there was an interesting development. This takes a little background to understand, so I will be brief. Officially reported Write in Results do not square with the election night talleys. Look at Libertarian Committeemen in Townships Blue Sub 1 or Blue Sub 6. There are more outrages but you get the point. Election Night Results Reported Write ins Secretary of State on Write In Votes SUMMARY Are write-in votes counted for every name that is written in? Not Libertarians in Jackson County If a candidate is on the ballot for an office, write-in votes are counted only for the candidates that have filed a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate with the proper filing officer. If no candidate is on the ballot for an office, it is not required to file a declaration of intent and votes are counted for every name properly written in. (see 115.453(4) RSMo, last sentence) Is it not amazing to see that so many dedicated libertarians, marking write in ballots could not spell one name? Even their own. This is not some conspiracy based on facts that you can not verify for yourselves. We were cheated of our right to compete. OUR BRAVE LIBERTARIANS DESERVE TO BE ON THE BALLOT My guess is that next time it is your vote that will not be counted.
