I was a Young Republican in college. The Republican Party Chairman told us that the purpose of the Republican Party was to keep the Niggers out of Northtown! I studied on that idea a bit and could not swallow it. I became a Democrat. I joined the US Army Reserves. I went to Law School. In Law School, I worked for the Judge Advocate of the Air Force. I wanted to be a judge advocate. I was told (face to face) by the Judge Advocate General over lunch, that President Jimmy Carter, a Democrat, had given an executive order that no ScotchIrish Protestant Males were to be accepted for the judge advocate's service. I was miffed. I figured that if my service was not wanted then they did not need my vote. I quit being a Democrat. For the longest time, I told folks I ws an anarcho-syndicalist. I believed in self-government, and capitalism, and personal responsibility. This was years before I knew the Libertarian Party had been founded. Finally, friends suggested that I might be a libertarian. I am a social moderate, a financial conservative, and fiercely patriotic. I am a Libertarian. If you are a Moderate Republican, or a Conservative Democrat and your party has left you, we have plenty of room at our table.
